Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of massage therapy and turmeric tamarind drink in reducing fatigue and promoting muscle relaxation in the arm muscles of masseurs at the Laboratory of Yala Rajabhat University. Employing a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental research design, a one-group pretest and post-test method was utilized. Data were collected using a closed-ended Likert-scale questionnaire to capture participants' perceptions of comfort, fatigue reduction, and muscle relaxation. The findings indicate a significant positive impact of the intervention, as evidenced by the Wilcoxon signed-rank test results. Z values ranged from -4.418 to -4.440, all with an Asymp. Sig. value of < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores. This demonstrates that both massage therapy and the turmeric tamarind drink are effective in reducing fatigue and enhancing muscle relaxation in the arm muscles of masseurs. These results provide knowledge into the potential benefits of combining physical and herbal therapies for improving muscle recovery and overall well-being in massage practitioners. © 2025 Author(s).
