This study focuses on developing a physics test instrument to measure the science literation ability of high school students on sound waves. The purpose of this studies are 1) to determine the construction of a physics test instrument to measure the science literation ability of high school students in sound waves materials and 2) to determine the feasibility of a physics test instrument to measure the science literation ability of high school students in sound waves. The research was conducted using a survey technique to capture the science literation ability of students. The items were tested on 260 senior high school students in Central Java Province. Item content validity was given to three experts and analyzed using Aiken's method. As for the item analysis of the instrument using the PCM 1 PL method with the help of software. The results of this study that there are 27 instrument items that are in accordance with the model criteria that are at the INFIT MNSQ value ranging from 0.77 to 1.33, the average level of difficulty of the instruments developed has been good by meeting the criteria for the level of difficulty of the instrument ranging from -1.50 to +1.80, the reliability coefficient of the instrument developed classically is in the good category, and the results of item analysis showed that the instrument developed was feasible to measure high school student's science literation ability on sound waves. © 2025 Author(s).
