Abstract

The development of technology has brought significant changes in the field of education and training, one of which is in the field of construction/civil engineering. The use of this technology ranges from construction design using an integrated system with architectural-mechanical-electrical work to the use of augmented and virtual reality. This study aims to 1) determine the feasibility of augmented reality-based learning media through the construction of limasan wooden roofs and 2) reveal the process of developing augmented reality-based learning media through the construction of limasan wooden roofs. This study uses a development approach through 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The subjects of this study are students and lecturers at the Department of Civil Engineering Education and Planning, Faculty of Engineering, UNY, with as many as 110 respondents. The data was taken from May to August 2024. Data was collected through questionnaires and interview techniques. The results of the data tabulation were analysed descriptively. The results of the study show that: 1) the feasibility of augmented reality-based learning media through the construction of a limasan wooden roof based on the test results has a score of 92.6%, which is very feasible; and 2) the process of developing augmented reality-based learning media through the construction of a limasan wooden roof is carried out with a definition: define-i.e. through activities to identify problems and user needs, design-through technical specification on the construction joints of wooden roofs, develop-through the stages of AR development, disseminate-carried out with limited trials in 3 classes. © 2025 Author(s).
