In the context of the Disaster Safe Education Unit (SPAB), this research aims to analyse school facilities and infrastructure in supporting children's resilience in the school environment. Many studies related to school preparation focus on resilience from a structural point of view, such as how to build earthquake-resistant buildings. However, for schools to be not only physically safe but also emotionally supportive places, especially for children who make up the majority of school occupants, it is important to consider the resilience of individual building users. As such, this study used a sequential mixed method, combining qualitative and quantitative approaches. Data collection was conducted through a questionnaire that assessed individual resilience. The results of this study are expected to provide recommendations for policy development and design of schools that are more responsive to disasters. © 2025 Author(s).
