With the growing of Internet, an user QoS support for Internet application will play an important role for the success of this emerging technology. Unfortunately, Internet connection in such circumstance is often not reliable, causing difficulties in accessing information sources on the Web. In this paper, we present an approach that does not only enable the user QoS integration into Internet application, but also the selection of appropriate services based on user requirements and network performance. Furthermore, we present a QoS framework for implementing the user QoS mechanism as the platform for Internet application. The framework serves as a bridging layer between Internet application and the network mechanism. © 2011 IEEE.
