Abstract

Contract labor in Indonesia is dominated by vocational school graduates through open and closed recruitment. This research will describe the conditions of implementation of contract system in Indonesia starting from recruitment, job placement, labor evaluation, and ex-contract labor activity. The study used a qualitative-naturalistic approach that exists in the Association of Special Job Market involving schools and graduates absorbed in companies with contractual working systems. The findings of this study are recruitment through regular channels intended for new school graduates and workers who terminated their contract period. While closed recruitment is done for those, who want to extend the contract period. During the work, the company always observes its performance and evaluates at the end of its term of employment to be recommended to be appointed to remain, renew its contract, or terminate its employment contract. Activities for those who are terminated by their employment contracts are either applying for jobs elsewhere, entrepreneurship, waiting for re-employment, and unemployment. © 2019, Institute of Advanced Scientific Research, Inc..
