Abstract

The purpose of this study is to understand the process of learning and cultural literacy education needs based on experienced arts and cultural actors. This study carried out for cultural literacy practitioners will be formed optimally if the learning process takes significant importance. This research is a case study with qualitative approach carried out in Bejiharjo village, Yogyakarta. Data was collected through interviews, observation, and focus group discussions. The key people included art and cultural practitioners, community leaders, and cultural village manager. The results showed that the actor implementing the learning process independently and collectively preserved and developed culture. It is realised there is a need for cultural literacy education that can be applied directly in cultural activities related to regeneration, curriculum, trainer and competence in marketing arts and culture. A meaningful education process can be done as an act of development to manage arts and cultural community. © 2019 Primrose Hall Publishing Group.
