In this research, we aimed to design physics learning media based on Android apps on smartphones. The media were tested to ensure their validity, practicality and efficiency for learning activities. We used the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation (ADDIE) model as the model of development. The media were tested through three steps: peer, expert and small group test. Data were collected via questionnaires, interviews and observations. This research produced physics learning media based on an application named CAKA (Becak Fisika). CAKA contains some senior high school physics topics such as work and energy, Newton's laws and circular motion. The results showed that the CAKA learning media had good compatibility and there were no significant problems when they were used. The CAKA application was tested, and the result was found to be valid, practical and efficient for learning activities. © 2019 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
