Abstract

This study aims to develop the cognitive test instrument of Sequence and Series topic grade XI and to analyze the cognitive test instrument using the Rasch Model. This research is a test instrument development research. This analysis uses the Rasch model to see characteristics such as the estimated difficulty level of the problem, different power, item match, and estimation of respondents’ abilities. The result showed that the instrument developed valid, and the results of the instrument analysis using the Rasch model with the assistance of the Quest application. It was found that the difficulty level with 12 questions has six questions in the difficult category and six in the moderate category. The power analysis is in the category of very good and reasonable. The analysis of the match of the item with the Rasch model showed that the two problems are not fit. At the same time, the analysis of respondents’ ability per item of the problem is in the medium category and high. Ten questions fit based on the Rasch model, and two were not. The cognitive test instrument that fits can use in mathematics assessment. © 2025 American Institute of Physics Inc.. All rights reserved.
