Engaging self-awareness to heutagogy approach of distance learning in primary education

Abstract

Primary education holds the longest part of the education process needs to develop confidence and a sense of self thorough self-awareness. This paper discussed the engagement of self- awareness to heutagogy approach in primary education. The research setting took placed in a primary school with 61 students aged 9 - 13. The data gained by questionnaire and analyzed by CFA first order by using the Amos software program. Through placing the primary student at self-aware stage become potentially problematic with heutagogy approach. But the research result showed that students have good self-awareness and available to prepare the heutagogy learning approach. The factor that influence most of the heutagogy approach in education context through student self-awareness was the self-confidence. This situation creates new discourse to enhance further research due to rapid changes in the education system, dynamic and uncertain environments. © 2020 ACM.
