Abstract

The research objectives include two points. Are there differences in students' creative thinking skills and living values before and after using contextual physics learning models based on local potential? What is the increase in students' creative thinking skills and living values after using contextual physics learning models based on local potential? The study used a pre-experimental design, namely the pretest-posttest control group. Research instruments include tests to measure creative thinking skills and observation sheets to measure living values. The test subjects were Class XI students at one of the state high schools in Wonosobo Regency, Indonesia. Data analysis techniques are using different tests and normalized gain tests. The results showed that there were differences in the creative thinking skills and living values of students before and after using contextual physics learning models based on local potential significantly. Besides, the increase in creative thinking skills and living values respectively reached 25.9% (low) and 48.2% (moderate). © 2020 ACM.
