Successful commercialization of technologies, including domestic ones, is the key term for an effective innovation system. One of the main conditions for this process or activity is properly integrated arrangement and economic mechanisms of governmental support, stimulating the innovation system participants’ interaction. Programs to facilitate research and development commercialization are one of the forms of public support. Kazakhstan is specified by the weak development of program forms to support innovation. This study is aimed to recommend to implement programs of research and development commercialization in Kazakhstan by interviewing scientific and administrative employees of education and research institutes. The results of the study made it possible to provide a range of recommendations to improve programs facilitating commercialization as a form of public support. © 2021 The Authors
