Abstract

Learning mathematics using concrete learning resources such as in an ethnomathematics app.roach can make the learning process more meaningful. This study aimed to explore the mathematics learning resources based on ethnomathematics in Osing culture. Osing Culture is a culture that develops in Osing Community, an ethnic community living in Banyuwangi Regency, East Java. This study used the qualitative app.roach by techniques: observation, interview, and documentation. The results of data analysis are learning resources from Osing culture with learning activities that are app.ropriate with basic competencies at the elementary and junior high school levels. Many items in Osing culture can be used as mathematics learning resources: Udeng, Gajah Oling batik, Sekar Jagat batik, Totogan batik, Gedegan batik, Gesibu Blambangan, Apem Contong, Ketot, Tampah and Gebyok. These learning resources can be utilized as media for mathematics learning activities, such as: identifying the shape and space, determining the perimeter and area of the shape, determining the volume of various spaces, understanding the concept of transformation, explaining the types of angles, understanding the concept of line segments and the relationship of two lines. Based on the exploration carried out, this research found that learning resources from Osing culture can be app.lied to mathematics learning for the 1st grade in elementary school to the 9th grade in junior high school © 2022 Author(s).
