The objective of this research was to implement the Multimode learning to improve the learning achievement of junior high school studentsto support the independent learning program and the study the effect of implementing multimode learning to improve the learning achievement of junior high school students in order to support the independent learning program. Indonesia as a developing country has a lot of potential in various fields, one of which is education. The number of students in Indonesia according to the 2018 statistical agency survey is 45.3 million with a population of 10.1 million junior high schools. The number of students in Indonesia is a hope for the progress of nation building. However, the problem that occurs is that the quality of education in Indonesia is not as good as other countries in the world such as Finland because based on the 2018 PISA study by the OECD, Indonesia has decreased scientific ability to 396 from 408 in 2015. “Merdeka Belajar” is expected to be able to improve the quality of Indonesian education and one of the efforts to increase PISA scores from the previous year. Efforts to increase the PISA score were carried out by developing it into questions with the AKM type (Minimum Competency Assessment) with the HOTS (High Order Thinking Skills) cognitive level. The implementation of Merdeka Belajar must be supported by the teacher as the direct implementer of education. The result of this reasearch is 41% of multimode learning is efective to improve the learning achievement to support the “Merdeka Belajar” program. © 2022 American Institute of Physics Inc..
