Abstract

Students as individuals who enter the early adult development stage, face many demands both academic demands and becoming independent and productive individuals. These challenges can increase students' vulnerability to depression. Given this, it was important for a student to have the ability to survive in the face of these demands which is known as resilience. There are various environmental factors that influence resilience, one of which is the relationship that exists with the academic community on campus. It can increase student resilience, one of which is through a high-expectation message. This research was conducted to describe the experience of a student in achieving a state of resilience while studying in a study program so that she was able to achieve positive results. This research is a single case study with data collection techniques using in-depth interviews and documentation. The results show that these students were able to achieve a state of resilience through coping efforts, adaptation, and getting high expectation messages from the academic community. This research underscores the importance of high-expectation messages in fostering resilience among students. © 2026 Author(s).
