Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the effect of papaya leaf extract media addition, the effect of temperature variations on the efficiency of hydrogen gas production, and to determine the optimum yield of hydrogen gas production using the voltammetric of water electrolysis method. This study used papaya leaf extract as the medium and stainless steel as the working electrode. Modification of papaya leaf extract media that was added had variations in concentration, namely 0; 0.004; 0.008; 0.01; 0.02; 0.03; 0.04; 0.05; 0.1; 0.15; and 0.2 g/mL with temperature variations of 25oC, 35oC, and 45oC. The addition of media aims to increase the production of hydrogen gas. The production of hydrogen gas at a temperature of 45 produces more than the temperature of 25 and 35 (oC). The optimum condition of hydrogen gas production occurred in the addition of papaya leaf extract media samples with a concentration of 0.03 g/ml. © 2023 Author(s).
