Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a branch of computer science that emphasizes the development of machine intelligence, thinking patterns, and working like humans. In the field of education, there is often a problem with learning patterns that include learning methods and strategies that are not comprehensive. The purpose of the Artificial Intelligence theory movement is to understand what intelligence is and make machines more useful in education to facilitate students learning according to their experiences. Creating a better quality of student learning and efforts to implement value formation along with the character of students and students. This aims to test the effectiveness of an android-based emotional and social intelligence assessment instrument (PKES) designed to measure student character achievement from learning outcomes. The research used a quantitative method with an experimental, descriptive approach. The trial was conducted at four primary schools in Bantul with 150 grade IV and V students in proportional random sampling. Data collection techniques through questionnaires using the P-KES-SD application. Data analysis using descriptive statistics. The results of this study show that (1) The design of character assessment applications in online learning consists of user flowcharts, admin flowcharts, data flow diagrams, entity relationship data, (2) Character achievements from online learning aspects of emotional intelligence aspects are highest affective aspects in the character of responsibility, peace-loving, hard work, honesty, and the highest in cognitive aspects is only tolerance. Meanwhile, social intelligence is highest in cognitive aspects in the character of tolerance, love of the homeland, hard work, care for the environment, and the lowest character of caring for others. This proves that Artificial Intelligence has facilitated the task of teachers in assessing student character and making it easier for students to find out the level of emotional and social intelligence that has been achieved from learning. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
