Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has caused changes in several activities, including in the educational setting. Every university must implement a digital transformation, namely the migration of learning methods from the conventional method to the full online one. However, the implementation of online learning is challenging for both students and lecturers or educators. This study examines the students' perception of online learning in three different departments, namely Medical Education of Al-Azhar Islamic University, West Nusa Tenggara; Geography Education and Science Education, Yogyakarta State University. The research method used was a descriptive survey by describing the results of the questionnaires that had been distributed online. The results showed several difficulties during online learning, namely lack of motivation, lack of understanding of the material, decreased level of communication between students and lecturers, miscommunication between students in group assignments, and difficulty in consulting with lecturers. The main technical difficulties are internet connection and data, which can be a hindrance to the learning process. Lecturers need to make innovations in providing learning media so that learning outcomes can still be achieved. © 2023 Author(s).
