Social media has the potential to enhance the learning process. Nowadays, students frequently use social media, including Instagram. However, most teacher mentions still doubt using Instagram for learning. Therefore a literature review is needed to provide a current overview of this platform. Based on the characteristic of social media, which rapidly develops and changes, the researchers consider that rapid review is the exact method to answer the questions raised. The articles were selected from Wiley, ERIC, Taylor, and IEEE databases, with requirements: 1) published from 2020 onwards; 2) passed a peer review process, 3) written in English and Indonesian. The article answers several questions: 1) What is Instagram, and how to use the features for learning? 2) What are the strategies to optimize Instagram for learning? and 3) What is the student's perception of Instagram for learning? The results show Instagram has been used in learning, and the students tend to respond positively. © 2023 ACM.
