A land which is managed properly and orderly will give an ease of facilitating the government in carrying out sustainable development planning. Including identifying changes in function and land use, estimating the possibility of climate change, landslides and others so that the land cover itself. There are many approaches that can be used to manage land use, one of which is using a geographic information system. This research is aimed at developing a web-based land use geographic information system for four districts in Merauke Regency, South Papua Province, Indonesia. The prototyping method was chosen as a software development technique because of its simplicity and flexibility. Software development, from the stage of collecting and analyzing system requirements to product engineering, took six months with eight refine prototype processes. The results of the study show that the geographic information system built is reliable and ready to use. This is based on the results of system testing both functionality and non-functionality of several critical functions. In addition, the results of system usability testing by using the system usability scale show that the geographic information system built is included in ACCEPTABLE category with an average SUS score of 80.1 or is in Grade B. © 2023 IEEE.
