Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze Small and Medium Industries (SMEs) products in Yogyakarta that can be used as teaching materials in design learning in the Department of Mechanical Engineering Education, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. This study uses a product sample made by PT. Trimitra, PT. MAK, and ED Aluminum. The data collection method used is observation, documentation, and interviews. Data analysis techniques used qualitative analysis techniques include reduction, categorization, and classification. The results showed that the products used in learning construction design in the Mechanical Engineering Education Department are tap and back pad wheelchairs, car wheels, wheel drums, frames of electric bikes, molds and dies, and car seats. Based on the learning competency achievement criteria, the six products can be spread in stages in four courses: Engineering Drawing, 2D CAD, 3D CAD, and construction design. © 2023 Author(s).
