Hydrogen gas production using stainless steel with avocado leaf extract (Persea Americana) media

Abstract

This research aims to acknowledge the influence of avocado leaves extract, varied temperature and pH solution on the water electrolysis process in avocado leaves extract using stainless steel electrodes. Electrolysis is done in base condition using NaHCO3 solution as electrolyte with five gr/L concentrates. Modification are made using avocado leaves extract media adding with varied concentrate 0;0.004; 0.008; 0.01; 0.02; 0.03; 0.04; 0.05; 0.1; 0.15; and 0.2 g/m Lwith varied temperature 25°C, 35°C and 45°C. The addition of avocado leaves extract can increase the production of hydrogen gas. The treatment of 45°C produces higher hydrogen gas than 25°C and 35°C. The optimum condition is gained in sample 11 with 0.2 g/mL concentrate. The electrolysis process does not affect to pH solution in optimum conditions. © 2023 Author(s).
