This study aims to: (1) produce scientific-based modules that are suitable for use by students with intellectual disabilities, (2) produce scientific-based modules that are effective to use. The development of the module refers to the Borg and Gall model which includes nine activity steps. The module trial involved 18 students with intellectual disabilities at SLB Taruna Al-Quran and SLB PGRI Sentolo. The feasibility assessment of the module was validated by two material experts and two media experts in the field of Education. Data collection techniques using interviews, questionnaires, and student performance tests. Data analysis was done by quantitative descriptive. The batik module for students is effective based on the results of the Normalized Gain Test. The results of the study (1) students' needs for the scientific-based batik module were declared feasible based on the validation results of material experts of 4.07 (Good) and media experts of 4.39 (Very good). (2) The batik module based on a scientific approach is effectively used for students with Intellectual Disabilities based on the results of the average student performance obtaining a pre-test score (42.63%) and a post-test score (83.29%) with an increase in score after using the module by 40, 66%. © 2023 American Institute of Physics Inc..
