Abstract

The remarkable properties of graphene have attracted the attention of researchers since it can be applied in numerous application devices, including sensors, energy storage, and environmental sectors. Understanding the research trend and future potential of graphene has become an interesting topic to be explored. VOSviewer analysis was then used in this study to visualise and simplify the investigation. Based on the analysis, graphene research was observed to overlap with graphene oxide and have a close relationship with reduced graphene oxide. This result motivates further investigation into producing high-quality and scalable graphene. Moreover, sensors and energy storage have become the most explored applications. Nevertheless, research on photocatalytic, mechanical, and environmental sectors is still open to wide investigation. © The Institution of Engineering & Technology 2024.
