Internet of Things for Real-Time Monitoring of Water Quality with Integrated Temperature, pH, and TDS Sensors

Abstract

Monitoring water quality in real-time is crucial for ensuring the availability of safe and clean water for the community. This study implements an automatic system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) to monitor water quality parameters such as temperature, pH, and Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) in the Walahar Reservoir, Karawang Regency, Republic of Indonesia. The sensors used include the DS18B20 for temperature, the pH Meter Module Ph-4502C With Probe for pH, and the TDS Sensor. Data from these sensors is displayed on the Nextion Generic 4.3-inch HMI Touch Display LCD and the Blynk application for remote monitoring. The test results demonstrate excellent performance and high accuracy of the sensors. Integrating the LCD and the Blynk application provides an intuitive real-time water quality monitoring interface. Implementing this IoT system enables the early detection of changes in water quality and ensures a safe and clean water supply for the people of Karawang and its surroundings. © 2024 IEEE.
