The purpose of this study is to describe the competence of communication and information technology that must be possessed by school counselors in providing classical guidance services. The method used in this study is a literature review. This research is driven by the urgency of the importance of improving the competence of school counselor to realise the goals of guidance and counselling itself, namely developing students' potential so that they can achieve successful developmental tasks. One of the competencies needed today is the competence of information and communication technology (ICT). The ICT competencies discussed in this study are related to technology skills and the ethics of using technology. The results of this study are based on two primary sources - first, Technical competencies for counsellor education from the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision. Second, Ethical Standards for School Counselors from the American School Counselor Association. So that the results obtained consist of ICT competencies and a code of ethics that must be owned and understood by school counselor. © 2023 Author(s).
