Fractions are a crucial part of mathematics education, but their abstract nature and complex operations often pose significant challenges for elementary students, potentially leading to future academic difficulties. To address this issue, a study was conducted to develop and implement a Fraction Learning App to enhance fraction understanding among elementary students. Initial results indicated that students using the app significantly outperformed traditional methods, showing higher engagement and improved learning outcomes. Despite these positive results, there is a need to delve deeper into user behavior to optimize the app's effectiveness. Understanding which features and sub-features are most and least used and analyzing daily and hourly usage patterns can provide valuable insights. Additionally, segmenting users based on engagement levels can inform targeted interventions. This study addressed three key research questions: the usage patterns of app features, daily and hourly usage trends, and user engagement levels. Findings revealed that specific features were more engaging, usage peaked during certain times, and distinct user segments exhibited different engagement characteristics. These insights are critical for refining the app, ensuring it meets diverse student needs, and enhancing educational outcomes. Future research should explore long-term impacts, scalability, and additional technological integrations to improve learning experiences further. © 2024 IEEE.
