Abstract

The low learning outcomes of SMAN 1 Gabus students are caused by the lack of variety in using the learning model during the teaching and learning process. As a result, students become following boring lessons in class. The aims of this research are to prove whether the think, talk, write learning model may repair students' cognitive biology learning outcomes. This research is inclusive in the quasi-experimental. The population in this research was all students of class XI MIPA 139 students using a simple random sampling technique to obtain one control class and one experimental class. Validation of the instrument with content validation is the opinion of education experts and teaching material experts about the human excretory system. Data analysis using quantitative descriptive statistical analysis and non-parametric inferential test, that is the Mann-Whitney test. The conclusion from the results of this study is that there is an effect of the think, talk, write learning model on students' cognitive biology learning outcomes, proven by the results of the study, namely the value of Asymp. (2-tailed) of 0,000 less than 0,05, which means a difference in students' cognitive biology learning outcomes in the experimental and control classes. So that they think talk writes learning model is very appropriate to use in learning, especially biology. © 2023 Author(s).
