Angklung, a traditional West Java musical instrument, has achieved global acclaim, elevating Indonesia's cultural prestige. This study uses a qualitative phenomenological approach to explore how physics concepts are integrated into the craft of making Angklung. Data were collected through interviews, documentation, and observation and analyzed descriptively with triangulation techniques. The research reveals that the process of making Angklung involves traditional craftsmanship and significant physics concepts, such as resonance, sound frequency, and wave propagation. The method includes four main stages: bamboo selection, bamboo cutting, tuning, and assembly. Each stage illustrates relevant physics principles, providing insights into how bamboo properties affect acoustic characteristics and how precise carving and cutting techniques influence sound quality. The tuning stage further educates students about harmonizing sound through acoustic principles using tools like tuners. This study offers a novel perspective by integrating traditional Angklung craftsmanship with educational physics concepts, enriching cultural heritage and scientific understanding. © 2024 Institute of Physics Publishing.
