Abstract

HOTS assessment is a judgment on matters of non-routine requires solving process with a solution that has never been done before. HOTS characteristic in this assessment aims to process analysis, evaluation, and creation. Literature This review aims to systematically review the literature about the implementation of HOTS assessment in mathematics. A literature search was conducted through the Education Resources Information Center database obtained 2 articles and Semantic Scholar obtained 4 articles in the period 2012-2021. The inclusion criteria used were English-language articles that specifically discuss the implementation of the assessment of higher-order thinking skills in mathematics. Based on the extraction of articles chosen six articles that meet the criteria. Results of the review showed the implementation of HOTS assessment in mathematics can improve critical thinking skills and students' motivation is to have an impact on student achievement. It is thus important for teachers to develop the assessment of higher-order thinking skills in mathematics. © 2024 Author(s).
