Abstract

This study investigates the impact of intake plenum design by changing the intake plenum outlet pressure on the power and torque of Husqvarna sm630 engine applied in Formula Garuda UNY (Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta) vehicle. The type of the study was research and development with Formula Garuda UNY car intake plenum as the subject of study. SolidWorks Flow Simulation was used to investigate the pressure of the intake plenum and a dynamometer used to measure the engine's power and torque. Data collection in this research is carried out by measuring and documenting the performance of the object under study from the test results. Descriptive-analytical method is adopted in this study. The result of study showed that changing the intake plenum's design affected the engine's power and torque. The highest pressure has obtained using intake plenum design V1 with the result of 103012.77 Pa, resulting in the maximum power of 50.38 Hp and the maximum torque of 45.31 Nm. © 2024 Author(s).
