Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of tire pressure on fuel consumption in Garuda 19 urban gasoline cars in the Shell Eco-Marathon Asia 2019 competition. This research is a type of experimental research using FDR tires on UG19 cars. The study was conducted by giving tire air pressure of 50 Psi, 75 Psi, 80 Psi, and 90 Psi in each pressure test the fuel consumption calculation was performed to determine the effect of energy consumption in each test of each pressure. The data of analysis method did a descriptive analysis. The results showed that: By applying FDR tire pressure to UG19 cars with a pressure of 90 Psi, fuel consumption reached 5.1 ml with the calculation of energy consumption achievements of 395 km /1. The results of these tests indicate that an increase in tire pressure will significantly affect the fuel consumption and energy consumption achievements. © 2024 Author(s).
