The aim of this research was to develop low-intensity training for pain in post-mastectomy breast cancer patients. Body movement exercises were carried out after one day post-surgery, and exercises were given gradually during hospitalization in combination with the administration of pain-reducing medicine given after mastectomy. The pain experienced by patients after surgery was measured using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS). The pain level of respondents before intervention for seven days in the group given physical exercise plus analgesics was 9.24 ± 0.53. Meanwhile, the average pain level in the group given standard analgesic therapy was 9.29 ± 0.52. It can be concluded that there was no significant difference in the pain levels of respondents before physical exercise plus analgesics in the intervention group and respondents who were given standard analgesic therapy in the control group (p = 0.32, α = 0.05). The pain level of respondents after intervention for seven days in the group given physical exercise plus analgesics was from 5.58 ± 1.94. Meanwhile, the average pain level in the group given standard analgesic therapy was 6.82 ± 2.83. It can be concluded that there was a significant difference in the average pain level of respondents after physical exercise plus analgesics in the intervention group and respondents who were given standard analgesic therapy in the control group (p = 0.001, α = 0.05). Physical exercise has proven to be effective in reducing the pain level of post-mastectomy patients, so it is recommended that physical exercise be one of the treatment interventions in dealing with pain management. © Nova Science Publishers, Inc.
