We investigate the explosion event at Anak Krakatau, Sunda Strait during June-July 2014. We use one seismic station namely KRA3 which is located at the volcanic body of Anak Krakatau Volcano. We propose seismic explosion detection based on the waveform, spectra, and spectrogram cross-correlations. We compare our results with the volcanic earthquakes catalog to understand the accuracy of event detection. Our results show that the seismic explosion was successfully detected and had similar trends of detection with the event catalog. The Spectrogram cross-correlation has the highest detection trend with earthquake catalog compared with waveform and spectrum cross-correlations. This study is useful to understand the dynamics of volcanic activity. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
