Today’s digital transformation has changed the way every individual or organization work more efficiently and effectively, as well as in the field of education. Information technology devices owned by individuals or institutions should be optimized as much as possible to achieve a vision and mission. Focusing on increasing the effectiveness of learning by maximizing technology owned by school residents and school infrastructure so that it can improve the quality of education by developing e-learning. Therefore, this study aims to delve deeper into the development of dereferenced e-learning at State 1 Panggang High School in Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta in September 2023. This study uses qualitative research, the data in this study was obtained through the triangulation method, where the data was obtained from classroom observations, interviews with principals, teachers, students, and analysis of related documents. The results of the study show that differentiated e-learning can increase student activity in learning, as well as provide solutions to the challenges faced by teachers and students in adapting student learning styles to the technology available in schools. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.
