The Boiler system is an important component in industrial operations, requiring continuous monitoring to ensure both efficiency and safety. Recent advancements in the Internet of Things (IoT) provide innovative opportunities for enhancing conventional boiler monitoring practices. This study seeks to design and develop a prototype IoT-based monitoring system capable of evaluating critical boiler parameters, including water temperature monitoring, boiling process characterization, and evaporation rate measurement, using distilled water as the test medium. The research employs a Research and Development (R&D) approach comprising five stages: IoT monitoring system design, prototype fabrication, hardware-software integration, controlled experimental testing, and data analysis. The system architecture integrates an ESP32 microcontroller, a DS18B20 thermocouple temperature sensor, a load cell sensor, and employs the MQTT protocol to enable real-time data transmission to a monitoring dashboard. Experimental results demonstrate that the system successfully monitors temperature variations from 27.5 °C to 103.4 °C with high precision, records a water mass reduction of 71 grams during an 11-minute boiling process, and consumes 0.5 kWh of energy. The findings indicate that the developed IoT-based monitoring system exhibits stability and accuracy, making it suitable for implementation at the micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) scale. © 2025 IEEE.
