Abstract

Many literature studies have been conducted to investigate online learning models in various disciplines. However, limited research has focused on employing the online learning model for students with hearing impairment. This could assist researchers and practitioners in designing and developing an online model to adopt in their learning processes. This study aimed to fill in the gap by providing a complete review of how online learning can assist students with hearing impairment. The data were acquired from the Scopus and ERIC databases. The findings of 16 studies published between 2019 and 2023 were collected in this analysis. The results revealed that it is necessary to plan online learning that considers the students’ characteristics and diversity to provide benefits. For deaf or hard-of-hearing students, it is important to consider the obstacles they may encounter in online learning and provide more accessible online education for them. Without careful consideration, online learning can worsen the digital divide, particularly for students with disability. © 2025 Iga Setia Utami et al.;
