Abstract

Motor development in young children reaches a crucial stage during early years, making parental support essential in guiding and enhancing this process. However, many parents do not have the organized guidance needed to develop effective parenting skills. This study focuses on the design and validation of the SMART-P (Seamless Mobile Assisted Real Training for Parenting) application to improve parental skills and children's motor development. Utilizing the ADDIE model with a quasi-experimental design, the study involved 120 parents of four-year-old children in Malang City, 30 additional non-sample parents for needs assessment, and six experts for content validation. Data was collected through observation checklists and organized questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics and SPSS software. The findings indicate that the SMART-P application is both effective and feasible for use, (2) there is a significant improvement in parenting skills after training; (3) children's motor development is also improved after the intervention; and (4) There were notable distinctions between the control and experimental groups in terms of parenting abilities and children's motor development. The SMART-P application demonstrates strong promise as a valuable tool for supporting digital parenting. © 2025 IEEE.
